Design Build Process
Blue Ocean Construction offers several management methods to suit customers. One method is Design-Build.
Design Build is a process in which we begin working with our clients before the project has been designed.
The advantage of this type of relationship is all parties, Owner, Builder and Architect, work together from the project’s conception to completion.
Design-Build projects have several advantages
The project is based on a figurative but detailed budget, which helps control construction costs during the design phase.
The agreement is put forth in two phases, Design then Construction. We believe our clients should not commit to construction costs until the final design is approved and working drawings are available.
There is more time for people to familiarize themselves with each other before construction starts.
There is added accountability to each party because each person is involved from the beginning.
Who makes up the design build team?
The Architect or Designer
The Designers will take the information from the Builder and Owner and create the concepts and visions into drawings and models. They will continue to be part of the team throughout construction.
Many Contractors and Customers do not always consider the Owner to be part of the project team. At Blue Ocean Construction, we do.
Residential Construction is an extremely personal experience for the Customer as your visions drive the direction and finish of the project. We therefore welcome input from our customers. From concept to product selection to visual images, we want to provide what our Clients are really looking for.
The Builder acts as the coordinator between all three parties. Along with being responsible for construction, the Builder works with the owner and the Architect to determine and control budgets. This ensures the design and desires of the customer can be achieved within the customers budget.
